OneWire Can Help Your Company Achieve EEOC Compliance

Today marks the 20th anniversary of the passing of the Americans with Disabilities Act (ADA), the landmark legislation that ensures the rights of people with disabilities. In the workplace, the Equal Employment Opportunity Commission (EEOC)  enforces the federal laws that prohibit discrimination against job applicants based on the applicant’s disability, as well as their race, religion, sex, nationality, or age.

There’s a big celebration of the ADA’s anniversary in Washington D.C. today, but even those companies not in D.C. can mark the ADA’s anniversary by checking up on their own EEOC compliance. Incorporating stringent EEOC standards into any hiring strategy is important for because non-compliant organizations can face hefty fines. In fact, the Office of Federal Contract Compliance Programs (OFCCP) collected over $100 million from companies that failed to meet EEOC hiring standards (hrworks.com).

OneWire already allows employers to efficiently source and track applicants. Soon, OneWire will also allow employers to turn on OFCCP compliance so that they may track EEOC job classification for a given position, as well as the racial, ethnic, and gender composition of all candidates considered.

If you have any questions about the benefits of OFCCP compliance or OneWire’s robust EEOC reporting features, please contact us at support@onewire.com.

Happy 20th birthday ADA!
