Tip #1: Don't be afraid to ask for professional advice to increase the chances of being noticed. You do not have to search alone but can seek the encouragement of friends and professional people to help you reach your goal of new and better employment.
Tip #2: Networking is one of the most effective means of finding employment and tapping into the "hidden" job market. Many job openings are never posted, so building and maintaining professional relationships through networking is an effective way to obtain information and advice in the midst of a job search. An easy way to start networking is to begin with the people you already know; let them know the type of position(s) you are seeking and ask if they know of any individuals or companies you should contact. Online networking tools (such as LinkedIn or an online alumni directory for your university) are other resources that may help you expand your network and find job opportunities.
Tip #3: The interview process starts the moment you walk in the doors, starting with security, right up to the final process. Always smile and be kind. The security guards are interviewing you too and will have a decision on your next meeting with the hiring managers.
