2010 Outlook: Career Services Offices will Focus on More than Just Graduating Seniors

It is not unusual for schools to maintain contact with their alumni long after graduation, whether it be for class reunions, sporting events, or fundraisers. It is unusual, however, for the Career Services Office to contact alumni who have graduated more than a year ago to help them in their job search. Today, that is changing.

The New York Times recently reported that alumni are increasingly using the Career Services Office from their school as a job search resource, no matter their graduation date. In fact, the Career Services Office at the University of Colorado, Boulder has hired a new staff member dedicated solely to alumni. From hosting alumni seminars to working one-on-one with job seekers, Career Services Offices are becoming a large part of everyone's job search. Read the article.

Many schools are now realizing that offering alumni services from their career office is a great way to connect with alumni. However, if the alumni do not come to you, it may be hard to find them, connect with them, and offer your services. So, what steps can you take to keep track of your alumni and help them land jobs? OneWire has the solution.
