"Don't get too gloomy"

WSJ.com reports on some of the most valuable lessons learned throughout the financial crisis.  Although it isn't over yet, which means there are definitely more lessons to learn, WSJ.com offers some advice: "Don't get too gloomy. Like the old saying goes, in every crisis is an opportunity."  This applies to investors, firms, and job seekers alike. An additional bit of advice to the job seekers out there: make sure you are doing everything you can to actively manage your career and fully represent yourself throughout your job search efforts.

The numbers hardly tell the story.  Today, the Dow Jones Industrial Average stands roughly 2000 points below where it was on this end-of-summer weekend one year ago. No one knew then, of course, but the U.S. stock market and the world economy were just days from historic calamity...
